David Muir is a member of the Fellowship of the Chartered College of Teaching in the UK. He is a highly experienced education professional with a strong background in school improvement, monitoring, evaluation, and raising achievement across diverse curricula. Formerly one of Her Majesty’s Inspectors (HMI) for Ofsted, a School Principal, a Principal Inspector for KHDA, and an Education Adviser to the Department for Education (UK), David has expertise in various curricula, including the International Baccalaureate, National Curriculum for England, U.S. Common Core Standards, and curricula from India, the Philippines, and Pakistan.
With over 20 years of school leadership experience, David has served as Deputy Headteacher of special schools, Principal, and Consultant Interim Leader. He has a proven track record of school improvement, leading schools to upgraded inspection grades. David has extensive experience as a school inspector/reviewer/evaluator across various education systems, including Ofsted (UK), KHDA (Dubai), SPEA (Sharjah), SIQA (Pakistan), BQA (Bahrain) and the Cayman Islands.
David has worked as a school improvement consultant, focusing on inclusion, interim leadership roles, leadership and management reviews, mock inspections, and themed reviews. He has previously been contracted by The World Bank to develop national special needs standards for a Gulf state and held various school improvement and advisory roles in the Gulf region and UK. Currently he is working with High Performance Learning (UK) and several groups of schools to support their school improvement.
David has an Advanced Diploma in the Education of Deaf Children, a Postgraduate Certificate of Education in Secondary School Mathematics, a BSc in Mathematics and Its Applications, and a National Professional Qualification for Headship.
